When you open a page, the server receives the usual request data: IP address, date and time, page address, browser and operating system. Vercel uses this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure, and keeps logs for a short time. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Statistics: Umami (self-hosted)
I count page views with the open-source software Umami, which runs on our own server. Umami sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses. It processes:
- Pages visited and referrer
- Time of the visit
- Technical information (browser, operating system, type of device, screen size, language)
- Country (derived from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored)
The data goes through the own domain andreaszeitler.com and is not given to third parties. Visitors cannot be recognised over several days. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving the website).
Error reports: Sentry
To find and fix technical errors, I use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA) with data storage in the EU. Only when an error occurs on a page does your browser send an error report through the own domain to Sentry. It contains:
- Error message and technical trace (stack trace)
- Page and time
- Browser, operating system and type of device
Storing IP addresses is turned off. No cookies are set, no sessions are recorded and no performance data is collected. Sentry is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a website that works).
When you write to me, I use your e-mail address and your message only to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR.
